Triple Decker Shelf Clock

John Birge, Bristol, CT, 1840

Beautiful three tiered shelf clock. Carved gilt eagle above original clock face, supported by three levels of pillasters of gilded and burnished mahogany. Clock face above a mirrored panel, which is above an eglomise panel depicting a gentelman and lady riding in a carriage beside a pond. Ivory key escutcheons on top and bottom panels, supported by lions claw feet. Original works.
